Educator Professional Development in Virtual Classrooms

Problem:

Educators had little or no experience teaching in virtual platforms.  neuroLEARN applied brain-based research and evidenced based strategies to develop a substantive professional development program for educators prek-12. 

Enhancing Teaching in a Virtual Classroom Through Brain Based Strategies

Section 1:  Introduction to Evidence-Based Research on Teaching and Learning (3 Hours)
  • Educators discover the new science of brain teaching and how the brain is structured to learn and store information in memory.  
Section 2 Part 1:  The Framework for Virtual Instruction  (2 Hours)
  • Educators learn to use research-based techniques to stimulate learning and memory in a virtual platform. 
Section 2 Part 2:  Demonstration Lessons by Grade Level (elementary/lower middle and upper middle / high school)
  • Educators watch demonstration lessons by teaching artists who have developed and taught highly engaging and creative brain based, virtual lessons.
